Water Purifie FAQ's
Why is water essential for human body?
1. Human body needs water to function smoothly and efficiently.
2. Water also plays a vital role in transporting oxygen and nutrients to the cells, assimilation of nutrients and waste transportation.
3. Water is also required to regulate the body temperature and even eliminates toxins from the body.
How is drinking water unsafe?
1. Bacteria and Virus cause most of the commonly found water borne diseases.
2. Bacteria Causes: Gastro-enteritis, Typhoid, Cholera, Paratyphoid, Dysentery and Diarrhoea.
3. Virus Causes: Polio, Dysentery, Gastro-enteritis, Diarrhoea.
4. In addition, worm infestations are commonly caused through contaminated water.
Has the quality of water changed over years? What are new age contaminants?
1. As the water quality deteriorated due to rapid urbanization and unchecked industrialization, the water condition also changed.
2. Water not only has bacteria, virus and cysts but also has dangerous levels of pesticides and arsenic, referred to as new age contaminants.
What is water purification?
1. Water purification generally means freeing water from any kind of impurity it contains, such as physico-chemical contaminants or micro organisms.
2. Water purification process contains many steps. The steps that need to be progressed depend on the kind of impurities that are found in the water. This can differ for different types of water.
Is usage of canned or packaged drinking water safe and healthy?
1. In most of the manufacturing units, the processing environment is unhygienic and do not have BIS certification.
2. Normally PET bottles are supposed to be used and disposed but these players do more than 60 fillings, making the bottle unsterile (chances of microbial contamination). This water will not supply any minerals to our body and causes osteoporosis (weakening of bones).
3. That's why canned water is not recommended for regular use.
What is the difference between purified water and bottled mineral water?
1. A reliable, complete water purifier should give you water that is physically, chemically and microbiologically pure. More importantly, it should be such that the water is 100 percent pure at the time of use with no scope for recontamination.
2. Bottled mineral water is unfortunately not purified at point of use. Therefore, there can be a chance of recontamination if stringent quality control measures are not followed.
3. Also, bottled mineral water proves to be quite expensive if consumed on a regular basis.
We use bore-well water and find it great.
1. Bore-well water is groundwater and it is prone to all the contamination.
2. The outskirts of the city which were agricultural lands, have now become part of the city with more residential colonies. The water from these areas contains high level of nitrates, fertilizers and pesticides.
3. It may also contain high level of inorganic salts (TDS & Hardness) which makes water non-potable. Moreover, the water quality of bore wells changes very frequently and this depends upon the quantity of water drawn from the bore well.
If you use treated corporation water supplied by Government Authority, do you still need an Crystal WaterPurifier?
1. The corporation water is not purified, but only treated. In most of the cases, water is treated or chlorinated using bleaching powder. Chlorination does not completely remove the impurities in the water. Besides, chlorination itself contributes to make the water less potable, which means the ''pure'' water that reaches your kitchen, is loaded with impurities.
How long can the Crystal WaterPurifier be stored?
Aquaguard water should be stored in a cool, clean place preferably steel or glass containers. Avoid matkas or storage filters as they tend to breed microorganisms. For hygienic reasons, it is preferable to replace the stored water after two days.
Chimney FAQ's
How does a kitchen hood/chimney work?
A kitchen hood chimney is fitted right above the cooking appliance. When switched “on” it sucks all the smoke, oil. Spices etc generated during cooking. All smokes, oils spices etc gets trapped into filters & odour/smoke is re-circulated into kitchen. In case of ducting mode they are thrown out of room through duct.
Who will fit the chimney?
A trained skilled service engineer from the our service centre should be call to install the chimney.
Is ducting compulsory?
No, but it is always advisable as the efficiency and suction capacity of the kitchen hood/chimney increase and there is no recurring cost of charcoal/carbon filters.
What type of duct-out pipe is best for air extraction?
The ideal type of duct-out pipe is short, smooth, and without curves or change in size. Any sort of irregularity in the pipe can in fact lower the performance of the hood. The performance value expressed by Crystal refers to hoods connected to a pipe with the structure:1 metre + 90° curve + 1 metre.
How can I decide the external motor location at my house?
This will depend on the type of property; what sort of space is available; how far away the motor would be located. Your installer would be able to help you with this decision.
What comes along with Split kitchenhood if you want a external motor?
The contents of the Split Kitchenhood are as follows, • Internal unit : kitchenhood with all controls except motor. • External unit : Motor unit with Stainless Steel casing having 5 mtr mains cable. • Alluminium flexible ducting pipe max 12 feet length and 6 inch diameter.
Does the ducting cost me extra for split kitchenhood compared to regular installation of hood in ducting mode?
Ducting Intallation cost will be charged. Masionary job is not covered under installation. Any additional brackets if required for installation will cost extra and will be available at extra cost.
Can my External Motor unit withstand weather conditions?
Yes External motor unit is powder coated like the AC split unit and can withstand weather conditional subject to proper installation . It should be noted that the mesh of the external init should face the ground to avoid water seepage in the Motor.
How to select the right kitchenhood?
To choose the most suitable Kitchen hood below are important points to consider :
1. Suction :
Suction of the kitchenhood m3/hr = Volume of The kitchen x Number of air changes
So if the kitchen is 4 m in length , 4 m in Width & 4 m height
Volume of the kitchen : 4m ( L) x 4 m(W) x 4 m(H) = 64m3
Suction of the kitchenhood m3/hr = 64 x 10=640
So kitchenhood with 750 m3/hr suction will be ideal
2. Size :
Kitchen hood should always be equal or larger than the Cook top/Built in Hob, but never smaller. Distance between Cook top/Built in Hob from the kitchenhood : Ideally the Distance between the Cook top/Built in Hob from the kitchenhood should be 65 – 75 cms.
Note: In case of Induction Cooktop/Hob or Vetro Creamic Hobs the distance should be 60 – 70 cms.
3. Location of Kitchenhood :
here are various ways to install kitchenhoods. Accordingly the selection of the kitchenhood should be done.
Wall-mounted: the kitchen units are located against the wall with the cooktop adjacent to the wall (extractor to be wall-mounted)
Island: the main kitchen unit is located in the middle of the room with the cooktop away from the wall (hood to be ceiling-mounted)
Corner: the kitchen units extend along two walls and the cooktop is located in the corner between them (extractor hood to be installed between the two adjacent walls)
Built-in/Integrated: the cooktop is located beneath a wall-unit (extractor hood to be installed inside the wall unit). Also there are kitchenhoods which can be recessed in the external plasterboard wall surface and false ceiling.
Hanging : There is no duct out attached to the kitchenhood & smoked gets recycled with long life charcoal filters which are washable. These hoods have more astheistic appeal & ambient lighting.
Split: Split Chimneys are external motor technology. Since the motor is placed outside the house the noise level and maintenance is reduced. With Crystal Split kitchen chimney your kitchen is free of unwanted noise and odors thus making it a perfect place to meet, entertain and dine with your loved ones. Go ahead, Turn on Silence with Crystal’s Split chimneys.
Ventilation in the kitchen : There should be no window on the walls adjacent & behind the kitchenhood. In case there are any they should be closed while using the kitchenhood.
Facility for duct out : There should be a provision for the duct pipe to pass from the kitchenhood out of the kitchen which should not be farther then 10 Feet & should not require more than 3 bends. Duct out facility should be for 6 inch diameter pipe.
Style of the kitchenhoods: Wide range of kitchenhoods are available ranging from material, colour & performance.
Gas Stove FAQ's
Gas stoves
Gas stoves as stoves don’t need as much maintenance as liquid fuel stoves do. The gas is very clean and easy to use and will almost not leave any soot on the stove or pots. But it is always good to look after your stove.
Do I need a chimney if I want to buy a gas stove?
In most cases, no. Most gas stoves these days are direct vent, which means they pull combustion air and vent exhaust out the same pipe. If you situate a stove on an outside wall and maintain certain clearances to windows (9"), doors and ventilated soffits with the outside termination, you can run 2' of black pipe up and then out the wall.
There are stoves called B-vent, which take combustion air from the living space. They do require a factory-made gas vent chimney. B-vent stoves are becoming phased out by most manufacturers, however.
Do I need a chimney for a gas fireplace?
Once again, most likely not if you situate the fireplace on an outside wall. Some direct vent fireplaces allow you to vent directly out the back and terminate on the outside wall.
